In an increasingly complex threat environment, the risk of corporate espionage and illicit surveillance is no longer limited to nation-states. Sensitive government facilities, defence contractors, and corporate R&D sites are prime targets — particularly during vulnerable phases such as construction, renovation, or maintenance, when unfamiliar personnel may gain temporary access.
These transitional periods often fall outside of standard operational security, creating blind spots in otherwise controlled environments. Contractors, IT installers, and cleaners may unintentionally (or deliberately) introduce security risks — from planted surveillance devices to concealed transmitters.
To address these vulnerabilities, high-security organisations must take a proactive counter-surveillance approach, using specialist tools designed to detect and neutralise threats before information is compromised.
- Detecting Hidden Electronics: Eskan Lica NLJD
The Eskan Lica is a Nonlinear Junction Detector (NLJD) used to locate hidden or inactive electronic components — even if the device is powered off or shielded. It identifies the unique signal distortions emitted by semiconductors, making it a vital tool in detecting covert surveillance equipment hidden in walls, furniture, ceiling voids, or personal effects.
Used by military, government, and law enforcement agencies worldwide, NLJDs like the Lica are essential during security sweeps in areas undergoing construction or frequent personnel turnover.
- RF Surveillance Detection: Eskan Palladium
Complementing the Lika, the Eskan Palladium is a high-sensitivity signal detection device designed to identify active transmission sources such as hidden microphones, cameras, GPS trackers, or wireless data links.
Capable of detecting both analogue and digital signals across a broad frequency range, the Palladium is ideal for active sweeps of meeting rooms, offices, vehicles, and IT environments — especially during or after maintenance or IT work where surveillance threats may be introduced.
- Portable Personnel Screening: CEIA MSD and MSDi
When large-scale or permanent screening infrastructure isn't practical — such as at construction entry points or pop-up security zones — portable screening becomes essential.
The CEIA MSD and MSDi multi-sensor detectors are lightweight, deployable units that allow rapid screening of personnel for metallic objects, electronic devices, and concealed threats. These units are ideal for temporary checkpoints or event-based deployments and require no invasive procedures or bulky infrastructure.
Deploying CEIA MSDs ensures that contractors and support staff can be effectively screened before accessing sensitive zones, reducing the risk of accidental or deliberate introduction of surveillance devices.
Securing the Gaps: Why This Matters
Whether in a defence facility, secure data centre, or critical infrastructure site, the reality is clear: the highest risk often occurs during routine works — when outsiders are present, and oversight is momentarily relaxed.
Tactical Solutions Australia delivers a comprehensive portfolio of counter-surveillance tools, including the Eskan Lica NLJD, Eskan Palladium signal detection system, and CEIA MSD portable screening devices.
